A shower was NOT what I had in mind...

Boy, am I glad Wim doesn't carry a camera around!

On Monday I had done quite a bit of puttering in the garden.  I hooked up the timer for the sprinkler, planted a bunch of things in my raised gardens, and planted one tomato plant in one of those fancy, upside-down tomato planters.

One of the hoses had a leak, so I hooked it up separately, intending to use it to water that fancy planter, as it was hung up by the corner of the garage, and nowhere near the raised planters that everything else had been planted in.

I even used the hose once, to make sure it would reach the planter okay.  The leak, at that point, was spraying mostly into the ground and easily avoidable.

Wednesday it rained, so I didn't have to water the plant... it got plenty of rain where it was hanging.  Thursday it rained a little, enough so that I figured I didn't need to water it.

Today (Friday the 13th of May - I'm writing this just after midnight), I decided I had better give it a good drink.  I took the nozzle (which only sprayed if you squeezed it) in one hand, and stepped over to the tap to turn on the water - - - - -  AAGH!!!

One leg was right over the leak, and between Monday and Friday it had managed to move around so that it was pointed pretty much straight up!  Cold water shot up my pant leg - in my excitement I jumped away from the tap, squeezing and waving my hands around (for balance) and consequently (as the water was still running) spraying every-which-way with the hose. Wim had to run to avoid getting wet.

When I'd calmed down enough to stop spraying everything in sight, I sent Wim to get one of the spare (good) hoses to swap them.  While he was downstairs getting the replacement hose, I watered the tomato plant.

LOL - such excitement.  Of course, I had to change into dry pants when I went back inside.
